Application for Membership

The West Sussex Art Society was founded in 1929 for the purpose of promoting the Arts among a group of selected and interested artists. On the second Saturday of every month, from 2.30 to 4.30pm the Society holds professional criticisms, demonstrations and lectures on the Arts, as well as occasional workshops. There is an exhibition every year at the Worthing Museum and Art Gallery.
Full Membership is by election. Candidates are asked to submit a total of FOUR recent original works - paintings, prints or sculpture plus supporting material and/or sketch books.

We have recently introduced Associate Membership, whereby you can obtain all the benefits of the society except the opportunity of exhibiting in our Annual Exhibition. The Associate Membership fee is the same as below (Full Members paying extra to exhibit). There is no election required for Associate Membership.

The decision of the committee will be final. No discussion or reason will be given by the committee. On election your annual subscription of £22 will become due.

Unsuccessful candidates for full membership will automatically be offered Associate Membership.

All new members are encouraged to attend the monthly meetings and contribute to this successful and creative Society.
