Since studying full-time for 5 years at Art College, Monica has been exhibiting her paintings and sculpture. These derive from images of people and the strong shapes and patterns she sees within landscapes; birds form an important part of her visual vocabulary.

She often paints from memory people whom she has met or observed; not using photography, she enjoys sketching which plays a large role within her art. Discreetly making sketches of people in public, she later uses these within her painting or sculpting. Continuing to experiment with a broad range of media, at present her preferred medium is painting with oils; she has also begun experimenting with the combination of ceramics and glass. There is often a humouresque slant to be found in her contemporary work.
